An original oil on canvas folk art portrait by Suzy Aalund (American, 1933-2016), depicting a young boy in a blue jacket and yellow trousers holding a toy lamb, surrounded by a carved wooden Noah’s Ark and its animals. Painted in Massachusetts in the late 20th century in Aalund’s distinctive American naive style. Presented with a patterned gold mat border in a black wood frame. Frame shows light handling wear consistent with storage; canvas itself is clean. A comparable Aalund work of the same subject and title sold at Eldred’s Auction and Appraisal Services for $313. Companion piece (“Girl Holding 2 Dolls”) sold separately.
