A substantial rectangular mirror framed in carved giltwood, with soft, undulating scrollwork gathered at each corner in classic Rococo fashion. The gilt finish has worn unevenly across the high points of the carving, revealing darker undertones beneath and giving the frame a lived-in, sun-warmed patina rather than a uniform shine. The glass itself carries a generous bevel along its full perimeter, catching light cleanly and reflecting true with no visible fogging or resilvering. A handsome, architectural piece that would anchor an entryway or mantel with real presence.
