Description
A textbook Eastlake shelf clock from the Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. of Winsted, Connecticut, its walnut case carrying all the hallmarks of the style: crenellated crestrail, incised geometric fluting on the pilasters, and a scalloped apron above the door. The lower glass retains its original reverse-painted decoration of a wren among cattails, still legible and charming despite some expected flaking at the edges, while the paper dial shows honest age-toning consistent with a piece of this vintage. The maker’s label reading “NEBO” is intact on the back panel, confirming both the model name and manufacturer; sold as-is, with visible surface wear commensurate with a well-used kitchen clock rather than a shelved showpiece.
